摘要:
自英格兰与苏格兰实现王位联合以来，英格兰基本控制了苏格兰的内政外交，困扰英格兰几个世纪的苏格兰问题得到暂时解决。为此，英格兰多次主动放弃了与苏格兰合并的机遇。1689年，苏格兰暴发了与英格兰光荣革命相似的革命，1689年苏格兰革命直接导致了英格兰对与苏格兰合并态度的急剧转变。由于英格兰对合并事宜的积极推进，英格兰、苏格兰最终于1707年合并为大不列颠联合王国。
Abstract:
Since the Regal Union of England and Scotland, England has basically controlled Scotland’s internal affairs and diplomacy, and the Scottish issue, which has plagued England for centuries, has been temporarily resolved. To this end, England has repeatedly given up the opportunity to merge with Scotland. In 1689, a revolution broke out in Scotland, which was similar to the Glorious Revolution in England. The 1689 Scottish Revolution directly led to a sharp shift of England’s attitude towards Scotland. England and Scotland eventually merged into the United Kingdom of Great Britain in 1707, owing to the positive push for merger from the England side.
